It’s hard to believe that we’re fast approaching the end of our second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, isn’t it?

The World Health Organization (WHO) found that family planning and birth control have been seriously disrupted during the pandemic. In the United States, 1 in 3 people reported having to delay or cancel a visit to a sexual or reproductive health provider, or had difficulty obtaining birth control (Guttmacher). Lockdown and quarantine directly affected provision of health care services. Because of the large focus on producing PPE and other essential supplies to help stop the spread of COVID-19, some contraceptives became out of stock or otherwise inaccessible. Quarantine also disrupted supply chains and the ability of clients to physically get to clinics. All of which only increases the need for access to the services that we provide at Emma.

We struggle to adequately express our gratitude for your support of us during these last few years. It has been nothing short of incredible to see our community come together and support one another. You’ve helped us keep the lights on, the doors open, and our staff providing the safe, compassionate and affordable care that Emma is known for - but we can’t do this without your continued help!

With SB 8 out of Texas going into effect in September, and the Supreme Court preparing to hear opening arguments in December in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, clinics across the country continue to be inundated with calls wondering if abortion is still available, including Emma. Please help us to confidently say, “YES - and we can help you.”

Advances in sexual and reproductive health and rights are long-fought and hard-won and we can’t afford to lose any ground, even in a pandemic.

Please give generously.
